Goes 470 MPH at Bonneville Salt Flats
At printing the Hot Rod Magazine Top Time Trophy should be secured by Team Vesco Racing.
The Turbinator is a turbine powered, wheel driven streamliner. In 1999 The Turbinator broke Don Campbell’s world record for a wheel driven vehicle of 409.135 MPH with a 427.832 MPH run on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The next goal for Team Vesco is to be the first wheel driven car over 500 MPH. With speeds like this the Turbinator could achieve this at the USRFA World of Speed, September 21 – 24, 2001.
